6.1Case studies

Goal: see how levels 0–5 skills chain together on real digital marketing cases.
Estimated time: 14 min · If you only have 5 min: read “The essentials in 30s” + the diagram.

The essentials in 30 seconds

  • Combine: a real case mobilises the whole chain — SMART goal, persona, channels chosen by audience, valuable content, polished conversion, measurement.
  • Order: direction and audience first, channels and content next (value before sales), conversion and measurement last — you only manage what you measure.
  • Reflex: faced with an action to launch, replay the levels' sequence in order instead of churning without direction.

Sofia thread — 1 year on: a local presence and a pro system that run

A year ago, Sofia was following levels 0 to 5 for her small natural-cosmetics brand in Algiers (shop + online sales, plus a pro offer for beauty salons). One year on: her Google listing and reviews bring a steady flow of local customers, and her email sequence matures pro contacts. Both cases below reuse her sequence: local presence first, lead system next — value before sales, measurement everywhere.

Each case follows Context → Steps → Result: replay it with your offer and your numbers.

Why case studies

The previous levels laid the bricks; here we assemble them end to end. Chaining the right reflexes — setting a goal, targeting a persona, choosing channels, producing valuable content, converting and measuring — is what separates marketing that pays from costly agitation. The rule running through everything: choose channels by goal and audience, deliver value before selling, and only manage what you measure.

Case 1 — Launching a local shop's digital presence

Context: A local tradesperson/shopkeeper wants to be found online, attract nearby customers and build their reputation, on a small budget.

Déroulé :

  1. Set a SMART goal (e.g. “20 quote requests/month”) and a local persona, then choose 2 adapted channels (L0.3, L0.4).
  2. Polish the site as pillar (clarity, mobile, CTA) and optimize a page for local SEO (L1.1, L1.2).
  3. Create and run the Google Business Profile listing — often the #1 local lever (L1.3).
  4. Set up review collection and reply to all: build e-reputation, the #1 social proof (L1.4).
  5. Choose ONE network where the audience is, with a sustainable editorial line and calendar (L2.1, L2.2, L2.3).
  6. Measure the essentials (GA4, Google listing) and adjust: which channels bring requests? (L5.1).

Result: A solid, free local presence (site + local SEO + Google listing + reviews), run consistently and managed by measurement — with no dependence on advertising.

Case 2 — Generating and converting B2B leads

Context: A B2B services business wants to generate qualified prospects, mature them and measure profitability, over a long buying cycle.

Déroulé :

  1. Define the goal (qualified leads) and the decision-maker persona, with LinkedIn as priority social channel (L0.4, L2.5).
  2. Produce valuable content: benefit-oriented copywriting, SEO blog articles answering the audience's questions (L3.1, L3.5).
  3. Create a lead magnet and a focused, frictionless landing page to capture emails (L4.3, L4.4).
  4. Nurture prospects with an email automation sequence (welcome, value, proof, offer) (L3.4, L5.4).
  5. Amplify with SEA on intent and/or retargeting (pixel), managing CAC and ROAS (L4.1, L4.2, L4.5).
  6. Assemble everything into a consistent, GDPR-compliant strategy, measured by a KPI dashboard (L5.2, L5.5).

Result: A measurable lead generation and maturation system: content attracts, the landing captures, automation matures, ads amplify — all managed by profitability and compliant.

Common misinterpretation: “apply the cases to the letter”. No. The cases show an order of reflexes (goal → audience → channels → content → conversion → measurement), not a rigid script: reuse the order, adapt the content to your offer, audience and budget.

Ready-to-say script — framing your action before running it (1 min)

“Before acting: which SMART goal? which persona, at which journey stage? which 1-2 channels? which page must convert? what will I measure? I write these five lines first, then I run.”

Small business / tight budget

One case at a time, on one page: goal in 1 line, 5 steps, result in 1 sentence.

Algeria SME

Include the audience's real channels (Google search, Google Maps, WhatsApp, networks by audience) and seasonal peaks in the sequence: Google listing and reviews first, the rest next.

Remote / hybrid

Double traceability at a distance: goal and KPIs written before acting, figures shared afterwards.

Cross-cultural

Check the country's channels and codes before transposing a case: a leading channel here can be marginal elsewhere.

Caution: The B2B case captures emails and automates mailings: any electronic collection and prospecting requires prior consent (opt-in) and respect for people's rights. Applicable rules (including GDPR in Europe) vary by country: validate your setup (forms, notices, unsubscribe) before launching, and never transpose a setup from one country to another.

48h challenge — apply tomorrow

Take 1 real situation (local presence or lead generation) and write its 5-step sequence. Test the 1st step this week.

Section exit checklist
  • I can chain the reflexes in the right order on a real case.
  • I have a replayable case sheet for my next action.
  • I did the 48h challenge or scheduled its date.
