Red Thread Project — Building the HR toolkit — from recruitment to steering
- Goal: build, for a real or fictional organization, an HR toolkit covering the whole cycle — from attracting talent to developing them, through administration and steering.
- Materials: the HR cheat sheet below (duties, reflexes and benchmarks) to keep at hand. Reminder: legal rules depend on the country — always check local law.
- Method: one step per level. We build concrete, reusable tools, keeping the dual concern of effectiveness and respect for people.

Step 0 · Level 0 — Frame the function (L0)
Describe your organization's HR duties, identify the applicable legal framework (local law, agreement), stakeholders and available tools/HRIS.
Step 1 · Level 1 — Recruit & onboard (L1)
Write a job description, a job ad and a bias-free shortlisting grid; prepare a structured interview framework and an onboarding path.
Step 2 · Level 2 — Administer (L2)
Build administration tools: choosing the right contract, hiring-formalities checklist, time/leave tracking, and reading a payslip.
Step 3 · Level 3 — Develop skills (L3)
Build a mini training plan (needs → actions → funding → evaluation), and distinct annual and career review frameworks.
Step 4 · Level 4 — Climate & employee relations (L4)
Spot sensitive legal points, prepare a QWCT/PSR-prevention approach and a conflict-management method; outline fair-pay logic.
Step 5 · Level 5 — Strategic HR (L5)
Formulate an authentic employer-brand proposition, compliant data practices (GDPR), and a 5–6 indicator HR dashboard for steering.

- Sound administration tools (suitable contract, formalities, time/leave, reading payroll) and a skills development plan.
- A climate approach (QWCT, conflicts, pay equity) and strategic steering (employer brand, GDPR, indicators).
