Running thread project — Building your personal productivity system — the test week
- Objective: assembling, level after level, your own time-management system, then testing it on a real week — not in theory, in practice.
- Material: the “productivity system” sheet below (to customize and keep at hand).
- Method: one mission per level, to apply in your daily life. Time management is not read: it is practiced.

Step 0 · Level 0 — Diagnosing (L0)
Run a 3-day time self-diagnosis, identify your 3 time thieves, and set 1 to 3 SMART objectives guiding your priorities.
Step 1 · Level 1 — Prioritizing (L1)
Sorting your tasks with the Eisenhower matrix, spotting your 20% high impact (Pareto), redoing a realistic to-do list, and training to say no once.
Step 2 · Level 2 — Organizing (L2)
Planning the week (3-5 priorities) and each day (2-3 tasks), blocking slots (time-blocking), grouping tasks in batches and applying the 2-minute rule.
Step 3 · Level 3 — Adopting a method (L3)
Choosing and testing ONE method: GTD (capture/clarify), Pomodoro, personal Kanban or Bullet Journal. And planning your first weekly review.
Step 4 · Level 4 — Tooling (L4)
Setting up your calendar as dashboard, choosing ONE task manager, cutting useless notifications (Focus mode), and automating one repetitive task. Choosing paper, digital or hybrid.
Step 5 · Level 5 — Lasting (L5)
Setting aside a Deep Work slot, handling emails and interruptions in batches, lightening one meeting, delegating one task, and aligning work with your energy (breaks, sleep, disconnection).
Success criteria
- Self-diagnosis done, time thieves identified, SMART objectives set.
- Prioritized tasks (Eisenhower/Pareto), realistic to-do list, one assumed “no”.
- Week and days planned with time-blocking, batching and margins; one adopted method + planned weekly review.
- A tooled coherent system (calendar, manager, mastered notifications) and lasting habits (Deep Work, batched emails, preserved energy).
