6.1Real-world cases

Goal: see how the skills from levels 0 to 5 chain together on real projects.
Estimated time: 14 min · If you only have 5 min: read “The essentials in 30s” + the diagram.

The essentials in 30 seconds

  • Assemble: light theme + Elementor, clean Flexbox containers, global style guide (colors/fonts), global header & footer (Theme Builder), quote form, then optimization (images, cache) and mobile test.
  • Replay: a new client arrives — you start from the exported kit, apply their style guide, replace text and photos: a site delivered in a fraction of the time.
  • Prove: journey tested on a real phone, form received, Core Web Vitals in the green, links checked — what isn't tested doesn't exist.

Through-line — two deliveries in Oran

Nadia, freelance web designer in Oran, reviews her two standout projects: joiner Benali's showcase site (global header, projects gallery in a Loop, quote form, performance) then the small online shop added afterwards (WooCommerce, product page, purchase journey). The two cases below reuse her sequence: clean structure, global style guide, global parts, dynamic content, optimization, test.

Each case follows Context → Steps → Result: replay it on your own project.

Why real-world cases

The previous levels laid the bricks; here you assemble them end to end. It's the sequence of good reflexes — simple structure, global style guide, global parts, mobile test — that sets a cleanly delivered site apart from a hard-to-maintain patchwork.

Case 1 — A showcase site, from A to Z

Context: The joiner wants a showcase site (home, projects, contact) findable on Google, delivered cleanly.

Déroulé :

  1. Install Elementor Free + a light theme (Hello Elementor), everything up to date, backup done.
  2. Structure with simple Flexbox containers; define the global style guide (2 colors, 1-2 fonts) in the site settings.
  3. Create a global header and footer in the Theme Builder (logo, menu, "Quote" button; address, hours).
  4. Lay in the content: a single H1 per page, alt on every image, a readable banner (overlay).
  5. Add a quote form (Pro widget) with an e-mail notification to the workshop.
  6. Optimize (compress images, cache), set the responsive, then test on a real phone.

Result: A clear, fast and consistent showcase site; new content is added without redoing the layout.

Case 2 — Add a small shop without redoing everything

Context: The joiner wants to sell a few products online, on the same site, without starting from scratch.

Déroulé :

  1. Install WooCommerce (the e-commerce engine) and add a few products.
  2. With the WooCommerce Builder, design the product page (gallery, price, "Add to cart").
  3. Display the shop as a grid via the Loop Builder, to the site's identity.
  4. Check that the global header/footer and the style guide also apply to the shop pages.
  5. Polish the journey: shop → product → cart → checkout, with clear information.
  6. Test a purchase end to end, including on mobile.

Result: A shop consistent with the rest of the site, with a tested, frictionless purchase journey.

Common misinterpretation: "Recopy the cases identically." No. The cases show a production order (prepare, structure, globalize, content, optimize, test), not a recipe to copy: reuse the order, adapt the pages, style guide and content to your project.
Text version of the diagram (SEO / screen readers / translation): Full chain: 1) Prepare (light theme, Elementor, backup, updates). 2) Structure (simple Flexbox containers, global color/font style guide). 3) Build the global parts (header/footer in the Theme Builder). 4) Content (one H1, alt, readable overlay, Pro quote form). 5) Enrich (dynamic content, Loop, WooCommerce if needed). 6) Optimize & deliver (compressed images, cache, responsive, mobile test, journey tested). Lesson: a reliable site comes from the sequence, not from one setting.

Ready-to-say script — framing a site project (30 s)

"Our need: [showcase / showcase + shop]. Our base: [light theme, global style guide]. Our global parts: [header/footer in the Theme Builder]. Our proof: [form received, journey tested on mobile, fast pages]."

Copy-paste template — Elementor project plan

PREPARE: light theme + Elementor + backup + updates
STRUCTURE: simple Flexbox containers + global style guide (colors/fonts)
GLOBAL: header + footer (Theme Builder), conditions = whole site
CONTENT: 1 H1/page, alt everywhere, readable overlay, quote form (Pro)
OPTIMIZE: compressed images (WebP), cache, responsive
TEST: journey + form + Core Web Vitals, on a real mobile

Tradesperson / small budget

Stay in Free for a simple showcase; move to Pro the day a real form or a global header is needed.

SME Oran

Adapt to local realities: visible "tel:" button, short text, lightened images for a variable mobile network.

Light shop

A few products: polished page, ultra-simple journey, purchase tested on mobile.

Multilingual

Plan from the start for consistent global parts and style guide if other languages come.

Caution: Generic reminder: a delivered site commits your client — keep a backup before any intervention, test the journey and the form on a real device, and consider the delivery done only after these checks.

48h challenge — apply tomorrow

Take 1 real page and replay the sequence: simple structure, global style guide applied, 1 global part (header or footer), 1 mobile test proven.

Section exit checklist
  • I can chain structure, style guide, global parts, content and optimization on a real project.
  • I have a replayable project (kit + style guide reused).
  • I did the 48h challenge or scheduled its date.
Self-assessment 1-5: does my site assemble in the right order?is my journey tested on a real mobile?
