Level 4 quiz — Expert: 3D, parametric & automation

Quiz — Level 4 · Expert: 3D, parametric & automation

1. What concept is the key to drawing on any face in 3D?

In 3D, you draw on the XY plane of the current UCS: orienting it lets you draw anywhere. Navigation: orbit, ViewCube, visual styles.

2. How is a 3D solid most often created?

Extrude, revolve, sweep, loft, then boolean operations (union, subtract/drill, intersect). The profile must be closed.

3. What is the point of generating 2D views from a 3D model?

« Model once, document automatically » (BASEVIEW). Rendering (materials, lights) produces presentation images.

4. What does a dimensional constraint drive (parametric drawing)?

You draw the INTENT: changing a parameter adjusts the whole geometry. Geometric constraints (parallel…) are maintained automatically.

5. What is AutoLISP used for?

You can load (APPLOAD) existing routines without coding, then write your own. Aliases (PGP), CUI and palettes also speed you up.
